Hello bakers!

Massive Happy New Year to everyone! Hope everyone had an amazing summer break.

An especially massive thanks for all the gorgeous Christmas baking we had from last round. Thank you for your generosity and for all the time and effort that must have gone into the absolutely beautiful baking we received.  There is a lot of love in baking and at a time like Christmas I just know that the patients, families, and staff and the hospices would have really appreciated the love from us. So thank you so much.

And a special thank you to the new bakers on board and the first time bakers with us – really appreciate your getting in touch and joining in!

Check out the delicious Christmassy treats…

Thank you so much for all the Christmas baking in the weekend!

All the gorgeous shortbread, cakes, loaves, meringues, cookies, slices, mini pies and tarts were just perfect and will no doubt give a little Christmas cheer to those spending time at the Hospice this Christmas.

An especially big thank you to the lovely ladies at the drop off sites and also to Mum and Jack for carting me round, picking up ingredients, feeding me and housing me over the weekend!!

Good luck with all the prep for Christmas!

Hope you get to take a break in all the craziness!

Hello lovely bakers!

Mercy Hospice will have a stall at Fabric-a-Brac on Saturday 16 November and would really appreciate our help with some delish goodies!!!

It would be great to get  a mixture of sweets and savouries. Slices, candy (e.g. fudge) and biscuits are great because they last a little longer (particularly if they are being dropped off earlier in the week). But savoury muffins etc. are more than welcome!

You can drop off baking during the week before the Fabric-A-Brac (11-15 Nov) at Mercy Hospice (61 College Road, Auckland).  Baking can be also dropped off on the day to the Freemans Bay Community Hall (52 Hepburn Street, Auckland). The event starts at 9am so before then is ideal (but not totally essential).

If you think you can help out or have any questions, please flick me an email to let me know!!
Thanks so much!!

Hello lovely bakers!

Sorry for the tardiness getting this wrap up out to you all and for the slow email replying…just finished a particularly hectic placement and am slowly making my way through all the emails I have neglected in the last little bit.  Thanks so so much for your patience!

The theme for last round was in honour of World Health Day but I really didn’t think about how hard coming up with “healthy baking” was until I went to decide what to bake!  However, you clever lot did not seem to be fazed at all coz there was some pretty amazing looking healthy baking!!

Hello bakers!

The next Baking for Hospice round is coming up after Easter on Sunday 7 April.

And the theme this round is Healthy Baking since it is World Health Day on that day!  It might sound like an oxymoron but cram in all those gorgeous autumnal fruits and veges in your baking, go wholemeal or light, or bake with olive oil or other superfood ingredients.  Think blueberries, lemony loveliness, pumpkin pie, apple cake, banana loaves, muesli slices…any guilt-free baking!

Massive thanks Adrienne W for the theme!

The drop off site time slots are below (please check your email for the addresses):
