Hello lovely bakers!!
I’m back and now posting from windy Wellington. Managed to finished exams and moved cities in the last month and am now slowly getting through the back log of emails. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding. So very very sorry for being frustrating disorganised last round. Things will be all back to normal next round!
Can I just say, what a treat it was seeing all the pretty pink baking last round. Having lost an aunty to breast cancer and watching my incredibly brave mother battle the disease, breast cancer awareness month has special meaning for me and it was incredible to see the massive support we got for this round. Thank you, so very much, from the bottom of my heart.
I’m so excited to share the photos from last round with you! So much lovely, pinky, deliciousness!
First up from North Shore Hospice:
Thanks heaps to those who dropped off their baking straight to the North Shore Hospice. The Hospice didn’t have all your names sorry but I do know Ally dropped off there and didn’t get to photograph your lovely baking sorry!
A MASSIVE thank you to Jo, Suzanna, and Nicole!! Jo was our Glenfield drop off site this round, as it was Kathryn’s birthday that weekend – Happy birthday Kathryn and Thanks heaps Jo! Suzy looked after the Newmarket site as Diana was away. And a super Nicole introduced heaps of lovely friends to Baking for Hospice!
Now from the Mercy Drop off site we had:
Can I just say thank you so much Aimee for holding the fort for the Mercy Tennis Tournament as I was really struggling with exams at the time. You are so amazing, thank you for putting up with all my stressy emails! And thanks to Aimee’s lovely mum, Julie, for letting us use her place as the Mercy drop off site.
As always a big B4H Kia Ora to Brenda, Louise, Janine, Sarah, Rebecca, Michelle, Sophie, Rachel and Rachael who have just joined us! Thanks heaps for getting in contact 🙂
Next round: Round 25 – Sunday 16 December
Our next round will be on Sunday 16 December and the theme is A Summertime Christmas. So think of things us Kiwis love eating on our summer holidays.
The Hospice has been loving all the wonderful baking that has been coming in and there have been some requests for baking from patients: for more slices (e.g. ginger crunch, chocolate caramel slice etc), biscuits (especially shortbread), and loaves (like fruit loaf, ginger, banana etc). And any savoury baking is always very well received too! Cupcakes that have been coming in are absolutely gorgeous but they are finding that if we get too many it makes it difficult to store them all!
I’ll be in touch a little closer to the time with the drop off site time table so watch this space!
Thanks again lovely bakers! Hope you are all enjoying the sunshine!
