Dear bakers,

I don’t know about you but I have totally caught Rugby World Cup fever. First of all, how WAS that opening ceremony?!  Makes you so proud to be a kiwi huh?

Thank you so so much for all the amazing baking this round!   Couldn’t believe the awesome turnout we had with so much wonderfully rubgy related baking.  You guys are amazing!

I received an incredibly lovely email from Therese Russel (President of the Fundraising Events Committee for the North Shore Hospice) which I have been dying to share with you:

On behalf of the North Shore Hospice, I want to sincerely thank you and your team of bakers for your huge baking efforts, which were used for our Quiz Night on Friday 2nd September. Our theme was Rugby World Cup and all your gorgeous cup cakes were the desserts.  They looked amazing.

I can’t thank you enough it was so wonderful to have you and your many other bakers commit to Hospice in your own free time. Hospice is very reliant on its volunteers and to have your support is most appreciated.  You all did such a wonderful and very creative job. I hope you don’t mind if we call on your services again in the future.

Your help played an enormous part in helping us raise $5,000. A superb effort by everyone involved on the night.  We were really thrilled with this result and North Shore Hospice is lucky to have such fine supporters like you and your bakers.

Nessie, it costs North Shore Hospice over $6.5 million to provide our services every year, completely free of charge to our patients, including support for their families.   We need to raise over $2.5 million to meet the shortfall between our Government funding and these operating costs and you are helping us do that thank you all so much.

So that’s all thanks to you lovely bakers and all your gorgeous baking.  Thank you for being so lovely and friendly in emails and in person, thank you for putting up with my slow email replies, and most of all thank you for your wonderful generous baking.  It is just so amazing to know that our little contribution can make such a massive difference.
