Gifts of time and love are surely the basic ingredients of a truly merry Christmas. ~Peg Bracken
Christmas is that time in the year where we remember what is special, wonderful and meaningful in our lives: family, friends, hope, peace and love. The simple of act of gift giving reminds us that by giving to others we can do a little towards making the world a better place.
And in the true spirit of Christmas we had a fantastic haul of Christmas baked goods for the North Shore Hospice. So a massive thank you to all you hard working bakers who took some time out of what is a very manic time of year to bake!
Our baking really does make such a difference, especially since Christmas time can be a very difficult time. Baking is truely a gift of time and love and it means so much to the family and patients and staff at the hospice. It is our way of saying we care and that we are thinking of them this Christmas time.
I know our families of the patients will love this food that comforts the soul and I heard from one of our housekeepers that it is a crazy week and your baking has made such a difference. From Gaynor Larson (Funding Manager, North Shore Hospice)
From Michelle, Linda, Tammy, Mary, Felicity, Kathy and Alison, the household team at the North Shore Hospice:
Thank you and all your bakers soooooooooooo very much for the beautiful baking that arrived yesterday. Once again you have all outdone yourselves! This week will be a very busy week for us in the kitchen and your baking is so gratefully being used by our housekeepers this week frankly I don’t know what we would do without it.
Have a very good Christmas and very happy 2011
So thank you again bakers, from the bottom of my heart for making Christmas time just a little easier for everyone at the Hospice 🙂
On the menu this round we had all sorts of pretty yuletide cookies, cakes and cupcakes…
Very special thank yous to Diana, Cam, Philippa, Danielle, and Kathryn for all their patience this year, for opening up your homes and for putting up with me running late! And a special shout out to Kathryn and Colleen of Delish Cupcakes who donated boxes and boxes of stunning Christmas cupcakes this round…you ladies are awesome and so so talented!
I’d also like to give a very warm welcome to Kelly, Hiba, Laura and Janie for joining Baking for Hospice…wonderful to have you on board! 🙂
So that’s us for the year! Can you believe it? Another whole year gone and our little Baking for Hospice is now 2 years old! Thank you to everyone for all your time and effort this year. Each and everyone of you are such warm, generous, kind, caring and thoughtful people, I feel very blessed to have gotten to know you 🙂
Our next round, Round 14, will be on Sunday 13 February 2011. I’ll email a wee bit closer to the time with more details.
I wish you and your families have a wonderful and happy Christmas and New Year with lots of love, laughter and full bellies!
