Baking is a labour of love.
And our bakers showed their love for the Hospice this round by making a wonderful selection of heart shaped and Valentine’s themed baking.
Thank you to all those who baked this round. To pay homage to Chinese New Year theme we had Chocolate Orange Cupcakes (oranges being a symbol of good luck and wealth in Chinese culture and customarily given as gifts in the New Year season) but it was the Valentine’s inspired theme that really touched people’s hearts, demonstrated in the array of beautiful cakes, cupcakes and cookies…you are a talented bunch of bakers!
Once again thank you to Diana and Owen, Philippa, Danielle, and Kathryn for letting us bombard your homes every round. Thank you for being so generous with your time and patience!
Also, I must say a big thank you to Cameron for being driver, carrier of heavy loads of baking and just for his general moral support on the day.
And a warm welcome to Jenny, Nicole, Tui, Stephanie, Briar, Leanne and Pam, it’s great to have you all on board.
I received another lovely email from Gisela at the North Shore Hospice, thanking all you wonderful bakers for all your hard work. She says that the baking is “sooo much appreciated and brings a smile to everyone’s face”. Thanks heaps for your email Gisela, I am sure I can speak on behalf of everyone when I say we are all really glad to be able to do our little bit to help the Hospice out 🙂
On the menu this round we had:
We are back to normal next round so Round 9 will be on Sunday 11 April 2010.
